About the Artist

Slow Art Collective is an artistic collective that focuses on creative practices grounded in environmental sustainability, material ethics, DIY culture, and collaboration. As an interdisciplinary group, the collective values process-driven methods where the act of making is central. Their concept of "slow art" emphasizes slow, meaningful exchanges of value through community links, rather than fast, monetary-based transactions. This approach seeks to blur the boundary between artists and viewers, fostering a collaborative environment where culture is absorbed through shared creative experiences.

Recent commissions include projects with the Tokyo Biennale, Exploratorium San Francisco, TarraWarra Museum of Art, McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery, Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, Powerhouse Museum, Mpavilion, NGV, Gertrude Contemporary, and Esplanade Singapore.

Slow Art Collective is currently led by Chaco Kato and Dylan Martorell. For more information, visit their blog here.
